The Seattle Orcas are thrilled to welcome Ian Bell as our new batting coach and Munaf Patel as our new bowling coach ahead of Major League Cricket Season 3. They join recently appointed head coach Matthew Mott to round out our coaching staff.
Former England batter Ian Bell steps in as our batting coach, taking over from Ross Taylor.
An England legend, Bell recently led the Dubai Capitals to their first-ever ILT20 title in the UAE. He’s also coached Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and several other top franchises.
During his 11-year international career, Bell was known for his elegant cover drives and amassed over 13,000 runs across nearly 300 matches. He also played a key role in England’s historic Test-series win in India (2012-13).
Joining him is 2011 ICC ODI World Cup champion Munaf Patel, who replaces Shane Bond as our bowling coach.
Patel played a crucial role in helping the Dubai Capitals secure their first ILT20 championship as their bowling coach.
The former Indian pacer will link up with the Orcas after finishing his IPL 2025 season with the Delhi Capitals.
Renowned for his accuracy and relentless line and length, Patel took 125 wickets in 86 international matches for India. He also won two IPL titles, with the Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians.
With their wealth of experience, Ian Bell and Munaf Patel are set to make a big impact on the Seattle Orcas as we gear up for the 2025 Major League Cricket season.
Podsquad, let’s give them a warm welcome!
