The Seattle Orcas have finalized the Seattle Orcas Net Bowler Talent Hunt presented by Zuper by calling in seven net bowlers to attend training camp with the team ahead of the Major League Cricket season. The entire process encompassing the nation-wide search to bolster The Seattle Orcas bowling ranks will be featured in a five-part docuseries starting, which fans can watch on seattlorcas.com starting July 1.

“We extend our thanks to all who took part in the Net Bowler Hunt,” said the Seattle Orcas CEO Hemant Dua. “The overall level of talent on display was incredibly impressive and we’re excited to tell the story of these seven bowlers who earned their selection by our coaching staff.”

Last May the Seattle Orcas developed a comprehensive program to search the country for the best bowling talent. The goal was to help prepare the team for its second season in Major League Cricket while giving aspiring players a chance to train with the team and be coached by our coaching staff.

Dozens of potential net bowlers were tested at the Seattle tryouts, with coaches making an initial pool of those who were invited onto the next phase. For the second tryout in Houston, athletes from around the country were put through their paces by Seattle Orcas’ coaching staff. With over 150 bowlers a part of the process, the coaches were looking for bowlers with a specific skill set - left arm pacers, right arm pacers, leg spinners and off spinners - who could best help the Seattle Orcas batters hone their world-class skills ahead of Major League Cricket’s second season.
