Former Indian international and an accomplished manager in T20 franchise cricket, Venugopal Rao, has joined the Seattle Orcas as GM of Cricket Operations.

Most recently, Rao led the Dubai Capitals to their first ILT20 championship as their Director of Cricket.

Before transitioning to management, the 43-year-old enjoyed an impressive first-class career, amassing 7,081 runs in 121 matches. He started his IPL career with Deccan Chargers in 2008 and was a key part of the championship winning campaign in 2009. He later played for Delhi Daredevils (2011-2013) and his final IPL season with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014.

Up next, he will serve as the Director of Cricket for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 before joining the Seattle Orcas ahead of Major League Cricket Season 3.
